EduCon – Empowering Dreams, Transforming Lives
In 2012, a small yet powerful idea was born under the Jain Social Group Maharashtra Region umbrella in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune — an idea called EduCon. What began as a humble initiative to support the education of a few underprivileged students has today grown into a movement of compassion, empowerment, and transformation.
EduCon — short for Education Connect — was founded on a simple yet profound belief: “No deserving student should be deprived of education due to financial hardship.” Over the years, this belief has touched hundreds of lives, helping students from families earning less than ₹10,000 per month to dream beyond their circumstances and achieve what once seemed impossible.
The journey, however, was not without challenges. From identifying genuine students in need, building donor trust, ensuring total transparency, to sustaining funds year after year — every step required conviction and collaboration. But what set EduCon apart was its unwavering faith in human goodness and its unique model of direct connect between donors and students. Through the innovative EduCon Card, each donor receives complete details of the student they support, building trust and a lifelong emotional bond.
EduCon doesn’t just pay fees; it walks with every student through their educational journey — from the 8th standard until they reach their career point. The team provides academic guidance, mentorship, and emotional support, often stepping in as family for those who have none. Many students come from broken homes, single-parent families, or extreme poverty. For them, EduCon is not just financial aid; it’s hope, dignity, and belonging.
Over the years, EduCon has supported students across diverse fields — from MBBS, Engineering, and Law to Pharmacy, Fine Arts, and IT. Today, 650+ students have been supported, and many have become doctors, engineers, CAs, and officers in reputed organizations. What makes the story even more inspiring is that many of these alumni have now come full circle — donating back to EduCon, mentoring younger students, and becoming drivers of the very bus that once carried them to success.
EduCon’s greatest challenge continues to be sustaining funds amid growing educational costs. Yet, creativity and community spirit have kept the mission alive. Innovative initiatives like “Raddi Se Unnati” — turning newspaper waste into education funds — have brought together housing societies, residents, and volunteers to contribute meaningfully without financial burden.
The team operates with P.R.I.D.E. — Proudly Realising Individual’s Dream of Education, and believes education should not just create professionals, but individuals who give back to society for Nation buiding.
From students living in one-room homes to now owning their first houses, from those who once needed help to those now helping others — EduCon’s story is one of resilience, compassion, and the transformative power of education.
EduCon is not just an NGO. It is a family — one that continues to believe that when you educate one child, you empower an entire generation
